Saturday May 11
Beautiful Bahama water!
2 beautiful days are coming up but the winds will be shifting from the west by late tomorrow (Sunday) evening with some rains. Our plans were to go to Powell Cay and Manjack Cay next but those anchorage’s are not protected against westerly winds. We are moving on to Green Turtle Cay where we will take a mooring ball and staying for about a week with high hopes to get back to the other 2 places either before we cross over to Marsh Harbor area or definitely on the way back.
We had a about a 3 hour cruise and we decided to use our water maker for the 1st time to replenish our fresh water tank. We do conserve water on the boat so we didn't need much but we have been living on the tank for a week now. That all went well but we had to shut it down because of the storm on the horizon.
Did I say "3 hour cruise"?
Ok, so much for the 2 beautiful days! Mother Nature pulled one over us all! It was a complete white out and we could only pilot by radar and chart plotter. We were getting close to the entrance to Black Sound which is extremely narrow and shallow so we danced around a bit waiting for the storm to pass.
Fun!     Not!!!!!
We finally did arrive in Green Turtle Cay dry and safely though it was not the trip we expected.
Happy hour might have started a tad bit early.... just saying....
We are at Donny's Marina in the small mooring field. All of his slips were full but we would've chosen the mooring field anyway as they have limited power usage for boats on the slips.

23.9 miles including dancing around the storm
692.5 Total trip miles

Sunday, May 12. Happy Mothers Day!
A beautiful day it was! Warm (hot) and no threat rain until this moment as I type, but just a threat so far.
We went into town (New Plymouth) today and being Sunday, most places were closed and many are open in the evenings only. We walked the town taking photos (I'm getting the itch to paint again) and looked for a place to have lunch.
We ended up at Pineapples and it was great! Had cracked conch (of course) and a couple of Kaliks. We have our list ready of other restaurants to visit this week though we would love to go back to Pineapples.
Then we were nice and HOT and ready to cool off back on Summer Breeze and Jasmine's motor won't start. It was better after he messed with it a couple of days ago but we almost had to row home earlier today. We are calling a mechanic tomorrow.  ðŸ˜ž We do not want to get stranded.

We are still having some generator issues as it is over heating and shutting down. Bruce is still thinking that there is an air gap causing the problem. We will see tomorrow after he worked on it some more today.

The winds are definitely out of the west, north west already this evening and we are happy to be in this protected harbor.

View from Pineapples onto the Sea of Abaco.
Happy Mother's Day to you all!
