Actually.....Saturday February 29
We are still in West Palm Beach at the anchorage in Lake Worth. It was a nice afternoon and there were several small sailboats just sailing around the harbor enjoying a nice sailing breeze and the sunshine.

Sunrise at Lake Worth anchorage and time to GO!
But not offshore, which means that we have 28 bridges today and 18 tomorrow with 10 of those that require an opening for us.
We put our big girl panties on and weighed anchor!
Anchor up at 7 AM and made the 1st couple of bridges at low tide which was helpful!
Along the way, we were so amazed at the homes, many of which we honestly thought could be a hotel but they were single family homes.
One after another....
In the Ft Lauderdale area, there are tons of these cute little yellow bus boats that are water taxis.
And the big boats just go on and on as well.
We got to our destination by 1:30 and decided to keep going even though the next section has 18 more bridges.
We passed the Port Everglades inlet and it looked ROUGH. We were glad to have stayed inside.
After making good time and taking some extra miles and bridges, we anchored at University Cove (University of Florida at N Miami Beach) at 4:00
Miles today: 56 AND 31 bridges

Sunrise through the port light in our master stateroom.
We have only 15 miles to travel today so anchor up was at 9 AM.
We missed the 1st low bridge scheduled opening which gave us the pleasure to hover in a narrow ICW channel for 30 minutes.
Entering the Miami area
Miami River.
This is where Bryan lived on Windfree for about 10 years before losing the boat to Hurricane Irma.
We had only 10 bridges today since we took 8 extra yesterday, 2 of which had to open for us and we had to wait and hover about 20-30 min for each.
Happy hour has a whole new meaning after these 2 days!

Especially when you are looking at 3 in a row.
We were anchored by noon at
Key Biscayne Bight with about 8 boats other here, several of which are Miami folks.
Miami is here today!
Actually, we are celebrating finally getting to the keys BUT
Key Biscayne is technically not the keys. Its Miami!
There were several large boats with lots of people with tiny swim suits on and loud music. Thankfully, they all went home by mid to late afternoon. They were definitely enjoying the warm sunshine and water that is still too cold for us to get in!
As we dinghies past these guys, I pulled out my phone and holding it to them asking can I take a pic? One guy yells "foto"! All arms were up in the air with cheers.
Miami is here!
We went on a dinghy ride into Hurricane Hole harbor and were amazed at the large homes. Duh!
Summer Breeze at anchor in Key Biscayne (above) and with Miami in the distance (below).
Tomorrow, we will move around the point to visit Cape Florida Light which I have painted several times and go to shore for a visit.
