Well, here we sit....
We do feel like we are doing a self quarantine thing but it is caused by the winds.
It is still too windy to get Jasmine off the top deck safely. The winds have been sustained in the upper 20s with gusts into the 30s since Friday. And I mean SUSTAINED.
Thankfully we still have some fresh produce but we are definitely working through the fridge!
Bruce and Bella are working through his stash of books and Rosie is getting some good painting time in. Unfortunately, not plein air but there are plenty of reference photos gathered.
Sunset on Sunday evening.
Then we heard some loud booms and out the back window, we see fireworks! They are coming from Islamorada and possibly from the restaurant that we've been wanting to go to since Friday.
?????
Monday
More of the same. Strong, steady winds in the upper 20s with prolonged gusts in the 30s.
So we sit some more.
Read. Paint. Exercise on the flybridge, Read, Paint, Eat, Drink
We spotted these 2 floating tiki party boats trying to stay upright in the winds. When you have paying customers, I guess you go!
Sunset Monday night.
Tuesday.
Finally this morning the winds are down just a bit and we felt comfortable getting Jasmine off the top deck.
Quarantine is over! We rode into town for dinghy fuel, trash depositing, a visit to West Marine and a good walk for the 3 of us.
We later went back out for dinner at Lorelei's not far from our anchorage.
We finally feel like we are in the Keys!
Our view at dinner. Lorelei's is a bayside beach restaurant with live music and great food.
Coming home just before dark.
Tomorrow, Tuesday we head for Boot Key Harbor in Marathon.
