Wednesday March 4, Key Biscayne

Tuesday evening.
Miami lights from Summer Breeze at Key Biscayne.

Captain Bruce on grill duty.

Wednesday morning anchorage. So peaceful.

About mid morning, we moved around the point over to the Cape Florida Channel area to be closer to the park which includes the Cape Florida Light, some nice walking trails, a small harbor where you can anchor overnight and tie up your big boat or small dinghy to the sea wall for day use. Day use includes use of the park, trash drop off, pump outs and walking to the lighthouse or the Boater's Grill, a restaurant at the end of the harbor. It was quite busy, in and out of the harbor, which was way to full and busy for our comfort so we anchored just offshore with others but the passing offshore fishermen with the BIG boats were just waking us something awful.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park.

No Name Harbor inside the park area. This photo does not do it justice as the harbor was FULL.

The Boater's Grill, which we did NOT have lunch at! We had Bella with us and after a walk, we decided to go have lunch there. Well, they do not allow dogs, even cute ones, even at the picnic tables outside by the boats!
So! We left and had our emergency snack lunch in our bag.

There has been a small group of small of young sailors both evenings from the Miami Yacht Club out behind us.

And there has also been several sailing regattas on the mainland coast both days.

Sunset tonight.

Tomorrow we head into the keys via the Florida Bay side,
the inside route.
Winds are changing directions again!
