Daytona Beach then Titusville, Happy birthday to brother Rey and Happy 2 year Summer Breeze anniversary!

Tuesday, Feb 19

Looks like the rain front coming in is going to stall right around Daytona so we opted to pull anchor and keep on south. Anchor up and under way by 8:45 with a very MUDDY anchor chain making me thankful for our new salt water wash down on the bow now. I don’t have to worry about the anchor chain taking all my fresh water for a shower any more!

The bridges around Daytona are amazing, besides the fact there is a lot of them.

..a warm and breezy, like a "summer breeze". We hear that it is cold, rainy and gloomy in the Carolinas.
It was a bit of a gray day for the 1st part but soon.... it is a barefoot kinda day.
Mosquito Lagoon is a narrow channel. Very narrow! We have to occasionally share it with the bigger boys out there.

And since today is a "boat day", we get some exercise on board. A bit of a stair master, resistance bands and stretching. It does feel good!
Yes, Rosie is "captain" and exercising at the same time with the remote auto pilot while Bruce went below.

And he is back so on to resistance bands...

Haulover Canal
Lots of manatees, turtles and blue herons.
The bridge says 24 + 3 and/or 27. It looks like a close call but we did have about 5' of room.

And we are on a mooring ball (#6) at Titusville Marina for a few days. Happy hour at it's best.

Sunset and a full moon....

Monday, Feb 18, Day 15
We decided to lay over here for s day or so. We took about a 4 mile walk to the Surplys Marine Supply store and to CVS earning a beer and calamari at Carribean Jacks where they let us leave the dingy while we shopped.
The rest of the afternoon was restful but we see that rain and storm winds are coming again tonight and possibly tomorrow which may delay us another day.
Hmmmm... doesn’t look too good.

Sunday, Feb 17, Day 14
Today is my brother, Rey’s birthday! Have a great one little brother!
And it happens to be the 2 year anniversary of us buying Summer Breeze (Mar Azul) from Bob and Elaine Ebaugh.

We left St Augustine with the Bridge of Lions 7:30 opening on Sunday morning, heading to Daytona.

The morning light was really pretty with the gray sky (no rain) and light misty ground fog.

The trip down was pretty mundane but the further south we get in FL, the more boats and jet skis we see. Kind of reminds us of cruising up north. Lots of boat wakes in the ICW. Too bumpy to paint! I did get some excersise with the stepper, resistance bands and stretching since we didn’t get to walk.

Lots of pelicans too. White and brown ones and beautiful homes along the way!

We anchored just off Daytona about mid afternoon in-between all these bridges! I'm sure Captain Bryan is looking at our location on AIS and saying, "why did they anchor under a bridge?"
We aren't under the bridge but close to it! There are 3 bridges on one side of us and 4 on the other.
Welcome to Florida! The land of bridges on the ICW and lots of boats!

Summer Breeze 2 year anniversary dinner
Smoked salmon, fresh salad, tomatoes, blue cheese, grilled sourdough bread and Prosecco!
(Mostly all from the Fresh Market in St Augustine)

Anchored at 2:30
