June 6: Thursday

Sunrise at Treasure Cay

Today, we moved on and back to Green Turtle Cay for a night. We cut across an area of the Sea of Abaco that is not normally used by larger draft boats, using the Treasure Cay map (😰) but on the recommendation of Ron and Pam (thank you!) it was an easy short cut. We never saw less than 6 1/2' below the keel and mostly it was around 10'.

We made the Whale Channel Passage again and it was absolutely beautiful! It was like a mermaid gliding across a swimming pool with clear blue, deep and calm water.

We anchored at the entrance to  New Plymouth at Green Turtle Cay. 

We ran into town to do some shopping at New Plymouth Cafe and Liquor Store and had dinner (Mahi burgers) and drinks at Pineapples, one of our favorite places on Green Turtle!

June 7, Friday

We got to Manjack Cay shortly after noon, got settled in the large anchorage with about 6 other cruisers, got ready for snorkeling and exploring, out we go and in come the storms!

So, we spent the afternoon lounging, watching it rain. The evening was beautiful with some of the locals from the island making the rounds in their adorable sail boat. They had a good time and went around all the boats.

June 8, Saturday

It's a beautiful morning and supposed to rain this afternoon, so we get ready to go again. We didn't even get in Jasmine before the rain hit and winds hit! Soon as it was over, we head out towards the mangrove creek where we hear that turtles and rays are abundant! 

The creek is beautiful and so were the turtles. We only saw about 7 turtle and no rays today, it must be the weather.

And that was the end of the exploring for the day. It stormed all day.
