Turn Around Point: Solomons MD to , Days 29 and 30

On Tuesday, we spent the day cruising the harbor area in the dinghy, just exploring. There were several small sea schools out with the little ones teaching them how to sail. They were adorable as the instructors were close by in a dinghy for help or instruction.
Another Defever 44 in the harbor. Our 2nd D-44 sighting.
We pulled into the only beachy land area we could find and met up with fellow anchorage partner's Ed & Mary Ann Thimble with their dogs. Bella had a nice swim here.
 Summer Breeze at anchorage.
Salt shakers on the tables here have Old Bay Seasoning. Of course!

Wednesday, June 20 2018, Day 30
Turn Around Day!

Looking at the bay forecast for the next couple of days, we see that a small craft advisory will be posted due to a serious rain front coming through, stalling and then backing up. The bay is still calm as can be so we decided to weigh anchor and travel the bay while calm and not mess with the small craft advisory and seas. Only regret is that we didn't get to explore all of Solomons, ie did not go into "town", but we got crabs!  Solomons is a beautiful waterfront.

Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River on another calm day!
Yeah!

For those of you that have been on the Chesapeake Bay with a rough passage, this one is for you! Calm as a swimming pool, a light breeze and 10 degrees cooler after the little front came through yesterday.

We arrived back at Fishing Bay in Deltaville by 6 pm and a light rain started just as we finished setting anchor. This is a beautiful area. I could (almost) live here. We set the anchor amongst 7 other boats with a few more coming in, there is lots of room here.
The rain didn't last long and the storm is to pass during the night and we will check the waves and rain forecast for tomorrow to see if we will make the final trek out of the bay and into Norfolk harbor.

Wednesday, June 20
Miles today:  67.8
Miles total: 812.7 (Doesn't seem like a lot but remember, this is a s.l.o.w. boat!)

And once again, Thank God it was calm!
